Peachy Guac

Lately I’ve been losing track of time. I’ll be doing something and realize that hours have gone by without pausing to notice what I’m doing or where I am.

Autopilot.

You know when you get in your car to go to the grocery store and you get there and you’re like holy crap I’ve been driving this whole time?

It’s funny but also jarring. It makes me feel like I’ve literally lost time. And it shows me that if I don’t start paying attention, I’ll lose track of it all.

Trying to pinpoint this source of haziness is hard.

Maybe it’s the lack of yoga/meditation, or the constant “busy-ness” I find myself in throughout the day. Maybe it’s because I’ve put some of my passions on the back burner for practical things like housework, making money and taking care of puppy.

Until I figure it out, I’m trying to take just a few minutes of every day for myself. Not watching TV, not tuning out reality.

Reading, cooking, walking with Rayna, catching up with a friend. The things that bring me back into the world.

Today’s recipe is Peachy Guac. It’s so easy to make it hardly counts as a recipe. But I must say I’m quite good at the guac game, so I’m sharing here if you need a go-to for the future.

Also it’s peach season. So you betcha, peaches are going in the guac.

If you don’t like peaches, mangos, pineapple or tomatoes would make great substitutes.

Depending on how salty your chips are, add a little or a lot of salt to your Peachy Guac.

Peachy Guac is perfect for sitting in the backyard with a beer, bag of chips and a good friend.
